tally!!

I'm going to Tallahassee tomorrow (well, today) to go to a protest/deliver a petition with Lauren and some other friends from the area!! Woot!! My first time in Tally, and my first big protest!

The protest is Monday, and I was planning on going up and coming home that day with about 14 other people... but now it turns out that a few girls are going Sunday night and staying with a friend (Lauren, Mara, and Kaileen), so I'm going with them too!! I'm so stoked. The protest, the road trip, being somewhere new, and spending time with Lauren, one of my all-time favorite people... This is gonna be so friggin' awesome, and I can't wait!

Just gotta be back in time for my first soccer game on Monday night... but the protest is at 12 in the afternoon, and the game is at 10 pm, so it should be fine. I'll probably ride home with Ryan, so that will offer me a bit more control in getting back to Tampa.

So if I can drag my butt over to the library, maybe I'll get some work on my thesis done today! Sounds exhilarating. Not. lol...

But I'm excited about the musician's gathering tonight at the Underground... I felt very special to be invited. :) If any other musical UG people see this, you're invited tonight as well... talking about ways to use music in ministry, and also Jason will be telling us about his latest ministry, the Underground Music Academy. If you play an instrument or sing, you should def. come!! :)

I heard this song on the radio, and I really like it. I know it's about a stoner. But I still like it... It's written well, and I like the character it creates. Kind of reminds me of a time in my life... I don't know if that's good or bad, but there it is. I guess I just relate to being happy during the day, and kind of depressed and alone at night... that's just the way it flows for me. Good song.

Step aerobics... probably NOT the best idea with shin splints, but I did it anyways. I really had the need to go to the gym today, and OUCH! Man, do I feel it now!! Got the legs wrapped and iced at the moment... hope it helps some.

I do love playing soccer though. Even though it makes my shins feel like they got run over by a truck, I love the game. I can't wait til the season starts. I'm officially playing defense, and I think it's gonna be fun. I wish I could be a striker, but let's be honest here, I don't have the ball handling skills. Shoot, I've only been playing for 3 weeks... lol! I'm much better at just getting in the other team's way. Hehehe.

Two weeks until Spring Break. For most students, this is a cause for celebration. However, for me, I am dreading this immensely. I have come to the conclusion that I will need to write the bulk of my thesis over the break... so, so sad. No beach for me... no pool... no fun road trips, or camping... I get to stare at my computer, and write something longer than I have ever written before in a format that I'm unfamiliar with. Awesome.

Lily of the Valley

One of my all-time favorite worship songs, sung during our impromptu jam session by the bonfire at IVCF's Spring Conference, 2009... it may not be the most "polished" rendition, but it's simply wonderful none the less.
